What to Avoid in Social Marketing
Posted on August 14th, 2009 | by John Baril |Social marketing has totally made it to the top and it has proven to be a conductive place to grow your business online. A lot of entrepreneurs have relied on the social networks to boost their own social marketing campaign. While this sounds real easy, there are still some things that you need to avoid so you won’t sabotage your efforts in social marketing.
Every online marketer knows that joining any networking site means socializing with the other members within the network. You need to mingle with the people within the network in order for you to be recognized. Additionally, you will be familiar with them as well.
It is your responsibility to take part in some discussions, most especially if the topic has something to do with the nature of your online business. Failure to do this will only brand you as a spammer or an opportunist, and people will just ignore you. Always see to it that you participate in some discussions and share your knowledge freely in order for you to gain a good brand.
There are some social networking sites that allow you to program your comments early on. This is great for online marketers who barely have time to interact. The problem is, some online marketers tend to abuse such automation. They don’t even try to make real interactions. All they do is pure sales pitches that are somewhat redundant. Again, this will only brand you as an opportunist. So, make it a point to interact whenever you have the chance to do so.
