One of the most effective and easiest ways to do it is through social networking sites.
Social networking is an online community of people who share the same interests, knowledge, or common political, social, spiritual, and philosophical views. There are many social networking sites that you can be a part of. Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are among the most popular ones today.
After you have registered for an account, make sure to create a profile that is personal and avoid doing a sales pitch. At this point, you only need to establish that you are in the site just like everybody else. The important tip to put in mind when you decide to use this marketing device is to make friends and establish rapport among your possible clients. You do not want to scare them away by telling them directly about the product or service you are offering.
Build trust in your network by updating your profile and giving a little information about yourself such as your favorite movies, music, or books. You can put links to your site, pictures, and other fun things that you can think of. This way you can show that you are human and people will trust you for that. Once you have established a good relationship with the people in your network, you can join forums and chat online through site messengers. This may seem like a long and arduous process but you have to believe that many online businesses have succeeded using this device to promote their sites.

I agree, some think that social networking sites are only for young people which is entirely wrong. In today’s trend, businessmen are now discovering the potential of social networking sites.
So I would like to add, if you have a business big or small, join these social networking sites (don’t be shy) and you might be surprised the effects of traffic it will give to your site.

Sure, social media is such a big help for everybody. What I just don’t like about it is most do post their life’s detail. Why can’t it be personal? I know it’s not my concern but then it’s just that it’s a bit boring.
