There are a lot of promising opportunities out there but you need to be aware of how to avoid scams.
When you find a company or website that you want to work with, then it is time to do the required research. It shouldn’t take you long to do this and it will be well worth the effort.
Here are 3 ways to avoid scams when you are searching for work from home opportunities online:
1. Discussion Forums: One of the first places you should check is the online discussion forums related to the niche you are interested in working in. On these forums you will find honest discussions by real people who are already involved in the line of work you are considerinig. If there is a bad company out there, you can be sure that it will be actively discussed on the forums.
2. The Better Business Bureau Online: Before doing work for any online company, be sure to check then out in the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Online. Now use some caution with this: if a company is not registered with the BBB, this doesn’t mean they are bad. A lot of legitimate businesses are not willing to pay the annual fees required to be accredited with the BBB. What you do want to look for, though, is whether the company has any complaints registered with the BBB Online. If there are complaints, you want to see if the company made any attempts to resolve the issue with the client. All of this information will be on the BBB Online website. Any company with several unresolved complaints is a seriouis red flag and should be avoided.
3. IMReportcard.com: This is an excellent review forum where people who have been involved with various companies and websites give their opinion, whether good or bad.
You can look up any specific website or comapny with their search function.
