Why e-Commerce Is Exploding

E-commerce is definitely out of the bag! The Internet is not near as much of a mystery as it used to be and people are becoming more comfortable using it. With that has come an increase in shopping online.

The reason that e-commerce is exploding today can be summed up in three different ways.

1. People have lost their fear of giving out personal information such as a credit card number or Social Security number. Certainly identity is a concern, but the fact that literally billions of dollars are transacted online every year now shows that people have become more comfortable purchasing on the Internet.

2. Along with the fear of giving out personal information is the confidence factor that comes with making purchases online. From little kids to senior citizens, more people are comfortable using the Internet on a daily basis. This confidence makes it much easier to go online and shop as well.  As more and more people come online for the first time and develop their confidence, e-commerce will continue to explode even more.

3. The other reason can be summed up in one word, convenience. Shopping online is way more convenient than getting in your car and driving somewhere to make a purchase.

When you add in the cost of gas, traffic, finding a place to park, the cost of eating in the food court, and so on, shopping off line can be a very expensive proposition.

From a convenience standpoint, you just cannot beat going on line to do your shopping, and quickly pay from the comfort of your own home.

This is three reasons why e-commerce is exploding and will continue to grow even more.
