Many people these days are turning to affiliate marketing as a way to “break out of the rat race”. These people are attracted to some of the desirable qualities of the business such as, no bosses, no commute, no deadlines, just to name a few.
There is a lot to learn when you are new to this business. Here are some of the things you should be prepared to learn: how to use autoresponders, getting opt in subscribers, traffic exchanges, article writing, blogging, HTML code, link directory listings, linking in general, forums and much more. Fortunately, learning this stuff is a lot of fun (at least it is for me). Also, there are some really great resources for learning this stuff, so you don’t have to do it alone.
When I started in this business I wrote down this statement on paper: “I will do whatever it takes to have a successful internet business”. When you write down this sort of statement, it is impossible to fail. So go ahead, grab a pen and some paper and write it down. Post your statement somewhere so that you will see it all of the time.
If you work a little bit everyday, you will succeed. I have a full time career and a family, so time is at a premium. I put in one hour everyday (sometimes a little more, sometimes less). With this consistency over the course of time, it is quite shocking how much you can accomplish. Give it a try!
Always keep the big picture in mind – the light at the end of the tunnel. With time, you will make a lot of money in this business but it won’t happen right away. Stay optimistic. The only way you will fail at affiliate marketing is if you quit or you don’t do anything (which is really the same as quitting). Don’t miss out on the affiliate marketing industry. Gems like this don’t appear very often. Stay in touch, as I am going to have plenty of great and useful information in this blog about affiliate marketing.
