Doing well in any type of business takes work, and working from home is no different. Among the types of opportunities that you will find for Internet businesses are survey sites, residual income or affiliate programs, data entry or data processing jobs and virtual assistant or freelance jobs. Affiliate programs are one of the most popular ways to make money from the Internet and basically involve your advertising for another business and getting other people to join in as well. The more people that are sending leads to the business, the more everyone in the network makes as profit. These types of affiliate programs can be selling anything from health insurance to travel and gifts. In some cases, you will pay a fee and have your own website selling these services or items.

These are great internet home based business opportunities for people who are social and comfortable with social networking sites, blogs, etc. Another option for working from home is to work for a company that hires independent contractors to handle their customer service. Phone operators who take reservations for some airlines, for example, often work from home offices.
