Fulfill Your Goals With These 4 Helpful Time Management Examples

Everyone has heard the sayings, “time is money” or “time is like money”. These sayings hold a lot of truth as you can spend, save, make or waste both time and money. Let’s look at 4 time management examples that you should focus on.

Although the above sayings are true, there is one crucial difference that time has from money: money comes and goes, however, time just goes by and never comes back again. When you look at it in that way, time is really more precious than money.

For this reason, you should use your time very wisely and also find and use techniques that will help you to optimize future time. This concept is particularly important when you have an Internet business of your own. With an online business, there are several different tasks which must be completed regularly and it is easy to get distracted if you are not careful.

There are 4 time management examples that any online business owner should follow and they are: mission statements, goal setting, to-do lists and delegation.

1. Mission Statements:

A mission statement is a general statement which gives the overall vision and reason why you do your business. Any aspect of your business should follow the theme of the mission statement. This statement serves as a constant reminder of why you do the business.

2.  Goal setting:

Once you have crafted your mission statement, you will be in a good position to write down some short, medium and long term goals. The shorter term goals will often be stepping stones on the way to the longer term goals. Each goal should have these components: (a) the actual goal, (b) why you want to do the goal, (c) a completion date and, (d) a reward that you will give yourself upon completion. Your goals will keep you moving in the right direction and, ultimately, will save you time.

3. To-do lists:

A to-do list is a list of all the daily tasks which you must accomplish. It is more effective if you write your list out the night before, as your brain will sort through and clarify the information as you sleep. Your to-do list will keep you on track throughout the day. After you complete each task, cross it off your list and then review what is left of your list at the end of the day.

A good technique to use with your to-do list is prioritizing your tasks. Try to divide your tasks into the following 3 groups: (a) urgent, (b) important but not too urgent, (c) low priority. Always try to complete the most urgent tasks first and then work your way down to the lower priority items on the list.

As you complete your urgent tasks and get them out of the way, you will have more time to work on the lower priority items. These less urgent jobs are usually the fun ones to complete and they often represent the real focus of your interest.

4. Delegation:

Too often, people will waste time trying to tackle every small task of the business on their own. This is known as micro-management. Delegation, then, is a crucial component of the 4 time management examples and it will help you to leverage your time well.

As you create a plan for your Internet business, think about some of the things that can be outsourced or delegated. If you work on what you are good at and outsource the rest, you will become successful much faster. As you start to make more and more money with your business, you will be able to afford to outsource more tasks.

Some of the tasks that online marketers typically delegate are blogging, article writing, link directory submissions, web and software design and things like that.

When you adopt these 4 time management examples, your time will be utilized more effectively and this will allow you to make money and realize your goals more quickly.

I wish you the best of success,
