you market in free
marketing forums properly, it can be a great source of targeted traffic
to your
website. There are many Internet marketers who know that forum
marketing is
important but they don’t know how to go about it. Below are 4
methods that you
can use to effectively market yourself in forums.
1.
Find, say four or five
free marketing forums to join and become active in these. You want to
find
forums that are in the same niche as your business and then get
involved with
the people there.
You
may have to try out
quite a few forums before you find four or five that you are
comfortable with.
With some trial and error, however, you will be able to find a small
list of
free marketing forums that you are comfortable with. It is more
effective if
you have a small number of forums where you post regularly as opposed
to using
a large number and just posting every now and then. You want to become
know in
the forums that you are active in.
2.
When you create a
signature file, place a link to a product that is not commonly sold or
owned by
a lot of other people.
If
you are in a membership
forum site, for instance, do not put a link to your membership website
as
everyone in the forum will already belong to that site. This is a very
common
mistake.
Another
point is that you
don’t want to overcrowd you sig file. You will get way better
results if you
just place one or two links to a product or website.
3.
Work hard at being a
credible member of each forum. The only way to do this is to always
leave
helpful and quality comments.
Some
people mistakenly
think that the more posts you make, the better off you will be. With
forum
posting, you need to understand that quality is everything. If you are
focused
on providing a lot of posts without any substance, this will actually
damage
your reputation.
If
you cannot not add value
to the discussion at hand, then you are better off not to post at all.
4.
Never, ever spam in free
marketing forums. Spamming is when someone provides an answer in the
form of a
blatant sales pitch. If you spam, you will lose your credibility fast
and
you’ll probably get banned from the forum.
