The book, Multiple
Streams Of
Income, by Robert G. Allen, outlines 6 income streams where you can
create with an Internet
business from home. Robert also discusses more income streams that can
be
obtained offline in his earlier best seller, Multiple Streams Of Income.
With
respect to
multiple streams of income
online, you want your first stream to be derived from your main product
or
service. If you have a product of your own to offer, this will allow
you to
stand out from the crowd and make your selling point unique.
Now before we look at the other 5 streams of
income, we are going to need to set up 2 more items. Without these two
items,
you may as well just pack it in, as you will never have a successful
Internet
business from home.
First of all, you will need your own website.
There are many people, amazingly enough, who expect to make the big
bucks
without having a unique website of their own. Now you can earn money
online
without having a website just like you can make money on a street
corner
without owning a shop. Auction sites and blogs are 2 examples of online
money
makers that don’t require a website. If you want to earn
multiple streams of
income, however, then your website will be the focal point through
which these
income streams will flow.
A website with no traffic, however, won’t do you
any good. Traffic is a must for any Internet business from home so most
of your
energy needs to be spent in getting targeted traffic to your website.
When visitors land on your site, they should
immediately see a free offer that will induce them to sign up for a
free
newsletter. Once they are on your list, you can stay in contact with
them
regularly via an autoresponder. Then you can send them things like
links to
free bonuses or you can continue to promote your primary product.
You don’t, however, want to continuously bombard
your subscribers with promotional material. Provide lots of useful
advice for
them and also offer some valuable freebies. What you really want to do
is to
create a long term relationship with your clients. You don’t
want to make it
appear as though you are in a hurry to make a quick sale.
As soon as you have your primary system up and
running, it will then be time to add some extra income streams to your
Internet
business from home.
For your second income stream, carefully choose
2 high quality affiliate programs. Since there are thousands of these
programs
out there, you will need to choose carefully. You could, for instance,
join a
two-tier affiliate program which is free to join. Additionally, you
should look
at joining an Internet based affiliate marketing program which offers
high
financial rewards but requires a regular monthly investment from you.
Once you have sufficient traffic coming to your
website, you can add the third stream of income and this will involve
placing
paid advertisements on your site. Two simple ways that you can do this
are
either by adding Google Adsense or by having other businesses placing
banners
or classifieds on your site for a fee.
Your fourth income stream for your Internet
business from home will work as follows: As you spend more and more
time
online, you will inevitably come across some very useful tools (Robert
Allen
calls these “picks and shovels”). If you really
like a particular tool, you can
recommend it to your visitors and many of these tools will pay a
commission for
this. One example of this is your website hosting company. Many of
these
hosting companies have affiliate programs where you can earn a monthly
residual
income from your referrals.
A fifth income stream can be derived from
selling ebooks and other publications that come with resell rights.
Alternatively, you can easily create your own ebooks by using some of
your past
articles, newsletters or blog posts. Just take a group of articles on a
similar
topic and turn them into an ebook, complete with your own website and
affiliate
links embedded inside.
Earlier in this article, I mentioned auction
sites. If your main product is something that can be shipped to
customers,
running a campaign on eBay can be an excellent way of generating a new
stream
of subscribers and customers.
Lastly, you will want to develop your own
affiliate program. In this way, you can sell your own product and
vastly
increase your reach over the Internet.
So you see, Robert Allen’s advice on starting an
Internet business from home with multiple streams of income is very
sound
advice indeed.
I
wish you the best of success,
