Scratch

One of the fastest ways to set yourself up with a niche affiliate
marketing business on the Internet is to buy an established one instead
of building one from scratch. Although the initial capital outlay will
be greater, you also stand to gain several important advantages.
If
you find a good site to buy, your website will be ready to make money
from day one; it will already be receiving traffic; it will have some
kind of search engine ranking; it may even be making regular sales.
Those
are some of the advantages of buying an Internet business. Of course,
you will have to do some research into the niche market that interests
you, and the website that you want to buy in order to avoid the risk of
investing your money in a website that is not as good as it seems.
You will need to check the claims that the seller makes for the site.
You will also want to make sure that the seller is not simply
duplicating sites so as to multiply his sales profits. There are
several places, you can go on the Internet to do some research. It is
very easy to do some quick research on Google, Whois.com, Alexa.com and
so on. Use a duplicate content checker such as http://www.copyscape.com
to make sure that you are buying an original website. Get a quick
estimate of the sites of value at http://www.dnscoop.com.
If
you find a site that you want to buy, contact the seller and ask him if
he would be willing to sign a non-competition clause. You do not want
the seller to set up another website in the same niche as the one he
sold you.
If
you are inheriting an e-mail list, it would be useful to know how the
names were gathered as you do not want to find yourself accused of
spamming as soon as you take over the website and send out your first
e-mail. If the list has been made on a double opt-in auto-responder
service, you will have nothing to worry about.
Make
sure that you change any passwords after buying an Internet business.
Assuming
that you have done your homework and bought a well functioning niche
affiliate business, you should be able to enjoy a number of benefits.
Firstly, you will save hundreds of hours of work designing and building
the website, writing copy and building up a good traffic flow. However,
that does not mean that you will be able to make money month after
month without doing anything. There are still several one-off jobs that
need to be done as well as maintenance work that you will have to do
every month to keep your website business running well.
One of the first things you will have to do is to replace every single
affiliate link on the website. Another job will be to change the opt-in
subscription form and your website contact details.
Although your website will receive a good deal of established traffic,
if you do nothing the numbers will decline over time, so your job will
be to nurture and expand this traffic.
Buying an Internet business enables you to get ahead much faster. You
won’t, however, be able to take an all year vacation.
