How
To Create A Sticky Website

Your Internet marketing
business
will not succeed no matter how much traffic you can generate if nobody
sticks around on your website for more than a few seconds. You need to
make your website attractive enough for people to want to explore it
and find out what it is that you are offering. If people stay on your
site for a long time, this is known as a sticky website. You also want
to think about how you can turn your first-time visitors into regular
visitors, people who come to regard you as an expert in your field.
A simple way of measuring your progress is to look at the number of
page views your website gets each day. You can do this by checking your
stats counter. When a visitor comes to your site, your stat counter
will record the visit in a number of ways. The visit will be counted as
one unique visit, but if your visitor clicks through five of your
pages, then the page count stat will be "5".
Making the information on your web pages attractive enough for visitors
to want to click through the pages is a good way to keep them on your
website absorbing your message.
Here are four easy things you can do to create a sticky website:
1. Give the visitors something interesting and relevant to read
People search the Internet for good quality information that is
relevant to their needs. If your site has what they are looking for,
presented in an attractive and engaging style both in terms of form and
content, your visitors are more likely to stick around.
2. Keep it short and simple.
When you write your copy, keep in mind the fact that people have short
attention spans. Keep each article short and make sure each paragraph
is no more than a couple of sentences long. If you have more to say,
then say it on a new page and add link at the foot of the previous page
inviting the reader to click through.
3. Make the layout attractive.
How you lay out your article on the page is also an important
consideration. The Internet is a very visual medium. By making your web
page easy on the eyes, you will be more likely to increase the time
your visitors spend on your site. So don't be afraid of white space.
Place the key words in bold text. People tend to scan pages rather than
read them, so if you make it easy to scan your pages, people will be
more likely to scan more pages.
4. Add a site map and teasers to your home page.
Assuming that most of your visitors will arrive on the home page of
your website, it makes sense to do everything you can on that page to
draw them further into your website. Add a site map to make navigation
easier.
Another way to increase page views is to place short extracts or
teasers from your articles on the home page. Add a link so that people
can easily click through to whatever interests them.
These are just a few simple steps you can put in place to create a
sticky website, in order to increase page views and get your
visitors to stay on your site longer.

wish you the best of success,
