Setting
up an Internet marketing blog to sustain
and grow your business is an excellent plan. Here is some blogging
advice for
you to follow.
First
things first, blogs are free to set up and
you can do it yourself in less than five minutes at blogger.com or
wordpress.com. You can also integrate either (or both!) of these blogs
into
your website.
Your
next task is to research all the
appropriate information you need to write your blog. Many people think
this is
difficult when, in fact, it is really quite simple and straightforward.
All you
need to do is to get into the habit of reading news websites related to
your
blog's niche topic. Become an active reader, read everything from the
perspective of someone who is gathering information for the purpose of
producing blog posts. Soon you will have more information than time to
talk
about it!
A
blog can be used in many ways such as for book
reviews, product reports, industry news stories. All of them are
related to
your business services and products or more broadly relating to your
niche
market. You do not need to constantly try and "sell" your products,
but feel free to offer occasional news updates relating to them.
Another
good thing about blogging is that each
post can be as short or as long as you want it to be, but something
between
300-350 words is an ideal average range as you don’t want to
bore your readers
with too many long and rambling posts. Short and sharp is good,
interspersed
with some longer stuff, provided the content is all lean meat.
Having
got into the stride of regularly
gathering news and publishing blog posts, quite a few entrepreneurs
begin to
feel frustrated as they begin finding that the traffic levels are not
increasing by very much.
So
how can you promote your blog to achieve its
maximum traffic potential?
Here
is some blogging advice around how to set
up your blog properly.
Firstly,
you can do this by active use of long
tail keywords. Do some keyword research and write your blog posts
around
keyword phrases that attract a few hundred searches per month and
little
competition. Do this on a regular basis and it will help drive traffic
to your website.
To
kick start your blog, be sure to post some of
your blog posts on social bookmarking sites that do not penalize you
for
posting your own content. Create articles that include the exact same
keyword
phrase that your blog post uses, linking back to it in the signature
file. If
you follow the above blogging advice, you will see your blog ranking
rise
higher and higher on the search engines.
I
wish you the best of success,
