A
Message To Part-Time Internet Marketing And Sales People... Hang On To
Your Day Job!

A
lot of people with
regular jobs would love to work from home full time doing Internet marketing and
sales. This is a
great dream to have, especially if you already have a business idea
that
catches your imagination and has the potential to succeed online at
some stage
in the future.
In
the meantime, my advice
to you is simple: Hang on to your day job while you learn how to make
money
doing Internet marketing and sales. While some people take a cynical
attitude
to what they call their J-O-B (just over broke, ha ha ha), the fact is
that for
many people, their job is a lifeline that keeps them off the breadline.
I
am not saying that you
should never quit your job for your own business. Far from it. However,
timing
is important.
One
of the great things
about starting an Internet marketing and sales business is that you can
start
slow and improve at your own pace. It will take discipline and planning
and
quite a lot of determination to set aside a certain number of hours
each week
to build your online business within the framework of a full-time job
and
family responsibilities.
But
it can be done.
The
two big advantages of
starting an Internet business from home are (1) the low start-up costs
that it
requires and (2) the speed with which you can set up and open your
online shop.
If
you already have a
computer with an Internet connection, you can have your business setup
in an
evening with very little money out of pocket.
Another
great advantage is
the flexibility that an Internet marketing and sales
business allows you. You can sell your own
products or services,
or you can sell other people's products as an affiliate. You can also
combine
the two methods and offer your own products on the front end and
affiliate
products on the backend.
Once
you have identified
your market and prepared your products, you will need to focus on
marketing,
traffic building, and converting your visitors into customers. Learning
how to
do this will take time, but with practice you will certainly improve,
provided
you put in the hours.
You
will need time to read
and research, and time to put what you have learned into practice again
and
again. That is why planning your time will be an essential requirement
if you
wish to maintain your momentum towards success.
If
you don't think you have
any spare time, it may be that you are unwilling to give something up
in order
to pursue your goal of running a full-time Internet business. Remember,
once
you know what you are doing and are able to earn a living on the
Internet, that
will be the time to give up your job. In the meantime you need to find
other
things that you can sacrifice to make time to build your business.
With
an Internet marketing
and sales business, some tasks can be completed in less than thirty
minutes,
while others are an ongoing process that requires several hours
together to
complete. Try to set aside a certain amount of time each day to devote
to your
Internet business, even if it is only thirty minutes. In each time
slot, try to
complete a single job. If you have access to the Internet at your
workplace,
you may be able to complete some short jobs during your break time.
The
experience of juggling
a full-time job and a part-time Internet business will prove to be a
great
discipline for your future success. Most of the people who fail at
Internet
marketing lack the qualities of discipline and perseverance.
Anyway,
the point I am
making is that you should keep moving your Internet marketing and sales
business forward with the help of planning and scheduling, and you
should keep
your self financed by holding onto your day job until your Internet
business
takes off.
I wish you the best
of success,
