After
you have purchased a private label rights e-book resales package,
download it
to your computer and unzip the file. Inside you will find the plr ebook
file,
graphics, webpage files, and most likely a Notepad file with some
details about
your rights in regard to modifying the material, distributing it and
selling
the PLR rights.
Let's
focus in this article on how to modify the sales page.
How
to Modify The Sales Page and upload it and its component parts to your
website.
1.
Upload the Graphic Files:
A
well presented sales letter will include some graphics, such as a
header, a
footer, product photo and a "buy now" button etc. When you upload
them to your website, it is a good idea to set up a folder for the
graphics and
upload them to that.
2.
Modify The Sales Letter:
The
sections that you will need to modify may have been placed in square
brackets,
or highlighted. They may also be in a different color and/or bold font.
If
you are viewing the sales letter on your browser, click on "view
source" in your menu bar. Now copy and paste the source text to a new
file
in your html editor, or to a Notepad file, and modify the text.
You
will also need to make sure the graphic URLS in the sales letter HTML
code are
pointing to the location of the graphics on your website.
3.
The Payment Button:
Now
we come to the payment process. In this example, I will show you how to
set up
a Paypal "Buy Now" button directly on the sales page.
First,
log in to your Paypal account and click the "Merchant Services" tab.
This is where you can make a "Buy Now" button for your sales page.
Enter the price and the name of the product you are selling. Hint: It
is best
to use the title of the plr ebook so that you know what the customer
has bought
when Paypal notifies you of a sale. The product name you choose will
also
appear in the customer's Paypal shopping basket when he or she clicks
the
Paypal "Buy Now" button on your sales page.
If
the sales page has its own "Buy Now" button graphic, you can use that
instead of the standard Paypal buttons. Simply select the "Use your own
button image" radio button in the "customize button" section and
type or paste in the URL of the button graphic which you just uploaded
with
your sales page graphics files in "step 1".
Now
click on "Step 3 Customize advanced features (optional)". Click
"no" for the first options and then check the two boxes that read
"Take customer to a specific page (URL) after checkout cancellation",
and "Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful
checkout". You will need to enter the URL of these two pages. Keep a
note
of the URLs you use because you will need to use the same ones when you
get
around to preparing those pages.
After
you have completed all the fields, click the "Create button" and the
HTML code of the button will be generated. Copy it and paste it into
the place
in your sales letter where the "Buy now" button is.
Now
you are ready to upload the sales page.
Next,
type the sales page url into your web browser and see how it looks.
Test the
"Buy Now" button to make sure that it works and that the product
details and price are correctly displayed in the shopping basket.
In
the next article, I'll show you how to prepare and upload the plr ebook
and the
"thank you" page.
