My
previous article explained how to use basic
keyword research to aid in finding possible affiliate products to
promote on
your Internet marketing promotion website. Let's take a look at this
concept in
more detail.
For
instance, if you like fishing, a site
dedicated to a certain style of fishing such as "fly fishing" will be
a lot easier to succeed with than a more generic site that tries to
cover every
type of fishing interest.
The
term
“fly fishing” is targeted towards a
particular niche within the general fishing hobby. It’s
specific enough without
being too narrow. You’ll be able to experiment with longer
keywords containing
the term “fly fishing” to attract highly specific
traffic to different pages on
your website such as "salmon fly fishing", "dry fly
fishing" and so on.
This
strategy of using basic keyword research to
find longer keyword phrases which also include your main keyword term
and by
creating web pages specifically targeting those keyword terms,
you’ll find that
your website will almost build itself. The keyword phrases are what you
should
be writing about, and the more keyword-based web pages you add to your
Internet
marketing promotion website, the more traffic you’ll bring to
your website over
the long haul, and the more business you’ll generate.
Just
wait a minute, though, you still don't have
a product to sell, right?
Continuing
with our fly fishing website example,
an easy way to find out whether there are any products out there to
promote on
your fly fishing website is to run a search on Google for the keywords
"fly fishing affiliate" or other related terms. You'll quickly find a
wide range of products aimed at the fly fishing market. So, all you
would have
to do is review each product and join the affiliate programs of those
you think
your intended target market will find most attractive and benefit from.
A
piece
of advice is to buy the products and
actually try them out yourself. This way you’ll be able to
market them much
more effectively on your Internet marketing promotion website because
you have
personal experience to go with them. You’ll be able to write
honest reviews of
each product that you’ve bought and tested. You'll be able to
give a customer
perspective for each product with more details and knowledge about it
that you
found from using it. This will add credibility to what you have to say
on your
website as well is giving you plenty of unique content to post on it,
which in
turn will attract the search engines.
This
will also position you in the market as an
expert in the field. You definitely want to capitalize on this by
starting a
blog about fly fishing or whatever your chosen area of expertise is.
Not sure
how to start a blog? Simply go to blogger.com or WordPress.com and
follow the
instructions! Just as with websites, you don't need to know anything
about the
coding behind the blog platform that you’re going to use.
The
best
sort of blogs are quite personal, so
you could fill it with reports about your fly fishing expeditions and
talk
about fly fishing kits that you have been using and your fly fishing
adventures
and misadventures. Any time you mention something that you feature on
your
website, be sure to post a link through to it.
This
way
you’ll be building up valuable
resources for your Internet marketing promotion success; a unique
website and a
unique blog. Each will support the other, and they’ll both
contribute to making
you a recognized expert in your field. The beauty of the Internet today
is that
there are a lot of great resources out there that can help you can
achieve all
of this without knowing a single thing about how to build a website or
a blog.
All you need are a few readily available online tools and some basic
keyword
research.
I wish you the
best
of success,
