Why
"Quitting" An Internet Affiliate Marketing Program May Sometimes Be A
Good Thing

Internet
affiliate
marketing experts sometimes quote the phrase, "a winner never quits"
to remind themselves that they should never give up even if they fail
to make
money with a particular affiliate program.
In
an industry where more
than 95% of the people quit and never make money, persistence can be a
virtue.
Persistence
is one of the
keys to real internet affiliate marketing success. Nobody makes money
by
throwing up a website, surfing around on a traffic exchange, buying
advertising
through a Co-op, and sleeping in late.
As
big of a mistake as it
is to give up on an affiliate program too soon, it’s also
pointless to stick
with a flawed program believing that a winner never quits.
An
affiliate program is
just a means which you’re using to make a certain amount of
money
on the
internet to achieve your ultimate goal. You obviously want to spend
some time
and choose affiliate programs carefully.
You
need to apply due
diligence when you research Internet affiliate marketing programs, and
you need
to study how to effectively promote them in order to make money and
maximize
your profits.
Now,
it’s quite possible
that the owners of the affiliate program may make changes that actually
hurt
the affiliate program. Or, it may be that the program has some
structural flaws
that only become apparent when you attempt to make money with it. Or,
perhaps
you encounter problems with support, commission payments and so forth.
Or, you
may even find that what you thought was a genuine program is in fact
little
more than a scam. These could all be good reasons to quit that
particular
affiliate program.
There
is no point as they
say in "flogging a dead horse," especially if you haven’t yet
reached
your goal. Instead, you’re going to have to replace the horse
and
move on as
quickly as possible.
As
your Internet affiliate
marketing skills grow, you’ll want to increase the number of
affiliate products
and services that you promote in order to multiply your profits.
Hopefully,
you’ll have been building up a list of people to whom you can
market your
products and generate repeat sales.
As
you broaden your range
of affiliate products, you’ll find that some make you much
more
money than
others. Here again, you’ll be serving your ultimate goal much
better by
dropping those programs that don’t generate much profit for
you.
Again, this
has nothing to do with "quitting" and everything to do with
persistently pursuing your ultimate goal.
So,
it’s true that "a
winner never quits, and a quitter never wins," but it’s also
true
that a
winner never mistakes the means for the end. Internet affiliate
marketing
programs should be viewed as means to a great end, and not the end
themselves.
If you have an affiliate marketing program that is not working, and
you’ve been
giving it your best effort, drop it and move on and find a better
program that
will help you reach your goal.
I wish you the
best
of success,
