A
lot of people start an
Internet business with a very basic idea that they want to earn cash
online
because they’re unhappy with their job and can barely make
ends meet.
The problem with this is that merely wanting to earn cash online
isn’t ever
going to make it happen. You’re going to have to dig real
deep until you have a
strong realization about what you really want to accomplish with an
internet
business. You’ll want to ask yourself these questions:
1. What kind of income do I hope to make each month or year?
It’s not good to simply state that you want to "make some
money." You
need to set a clear goal, a quantity of money that will enable you to
live the
kind of life that you want, whether it’s $3,000 a month or
$200,000 a year. To
be most effective, write this goal down.
2. How long and hard will I have to work before I reach my goal?
Setting a goal to make a certain amount of money without specifying a
specific
time in which to reach that goal is just as bad as not having a goal at
all.
You need to have a set timeframe when you can achieve your Internet
income
target.
3. Will I invest the time, energy, and money that is required to learn
the
skills needed to become successful? Am I willing to pay others to do
any of
these things for me?
You should do some research about the skills that you’ll need
to develop in
order to succeed before you get started. Think about how much of your
time,
energy and money it will cost to develop those skills.
An example might be that you’ll have to set up a website. Are
you going to be
willing to learn how to design and build a website? Or, would you
outsource
that task to someone with more experience?
What kind of writing skills do you have? Would you be happy with
creating
unique content for your website? If not, are you willing to pay
somebody to do
it for you?
4. Why do I want to earn cash online as opposed to making it through
some other
method?
If you find that your answers to the previous questions are negative,
it is
doubtful that you are really serious about running your own Internet
business.
But whatever your answer was, stop for a moment and ask yourself why
you want
to use the Internet as your business medium. What is the special
benefit that
the Internet brings to your idea of doing business?
5. What is motivating me to want to earn cash online? What is my true
goal that
I’m pursuing behind my desire to make money on the Internet?
The desire to earn cash online or anywhere else is usually a secondary
desire,
a means to a greater end. If you made a lot of money online you would
be able
to do what? So, whatever you would do with that money is your real
motivator.
These are your big life goals or dreams. You need to get these out into
the
open and clear in your own mind. Write them down and refer to them
regularly.
These are the dreams that will keep you motivated when the going gets
tough.
Once you can answer these questions, you’ll have a more clear
idea of what
you’re trying to accomplish and whether or not the Internet
is the place where
you want to achieve it.
When you believe you’re ready to move on, the next step to
take is to seek out
a profitable niche market and develop new and unique products or
services that
will meet the needs of that market. This is how you’ll make
your money. Or, if
the idea of creating your own products seems too daunting, you can
always go
into affiliate marketing and earn high commissions selling other
people's
products.
I
wish you the best of success,
