No
matter who
you are or where you are starting
from, you can have, do or be anything you want. This statement is the
exciting
message behind the book The Secret, written by Rhonda Byrne.
This
review
will explain the basics of The
Secret and then look at some "secret tips" for Internet marketers.
Inspiration
for
The Secret was inspired when the
daughter of Rhonda Byrne gave her a copy of Wallace D Wattles' The
Science Of
Getting Rich (1910). Byrne was going through a difficult time in her
life, so
it was a timely gift. The book took Byrne on a journey of research,
discovery
and transformation and eventually led to her creating the film, The
Secret,
which was released in 2006, is available on DVD and streaming video on
the web.
The
Secret is a
movie that talks about the Law
of Attraction, which is portrayed as a secret hidden from the masses
for
centuries, but which can now be revealed to everyone. Many of the most
successful people in different areas of study throughout history were
said to
have possessed the secret. Several leading proponents such as Jack
Canfield,
Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale and Denis Waitley are interviewed throughout
the film.
So, what
is the
Law of Attraction?
1.
Gratitude.
Take on the mindset of showing
gratitude. Be thankful for the good things you already have. However,
also be
thankful for what you seek, as if you already possessed them. If just
one rule
could be taken from The Secret, it would be the rule of gratitude.
2. Ask.
When
you know what you want, visualize
it and ask for it.
3.
Believe.
Believe that you already have what
you want, express gratitude and see yourself possessing it.
4.
Receive.
Take on a receptive attitude and be
prepared for the inspiration or opening that will bring you the things
that you
desire.
What is
interesting about how The Secret came to
be made is that according to Rhonda Byrne, she adopted the methods of
the
secret in order to bring the film into being. The usual methods of
film-making
were abandoned in favor of processes such as gratitude, visualization,
and
faith. The entire film crew went to America after having arranged just
one
interview. They went with an attitude of belief that the rest would
come
together. In the end, fifty-two success teachers were interviewed.
The
Secret was
promoted extensively on the
Internet using viral marketing campaigns in which the nature of the
secret
behind The Secret was not revealed. This, and the excellent packaging
of the
film, created an intense interest and a momentum developed that turned
the film
into a sales phenomenon and a "success secret" in its own right.
Following
the
success of the film, a book
version of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne was published in 2007, followed
by The
Secret Gratitude Book.
Inevitably,
the
success of The Secret has
sparked some controversy about the accuracy of the message or
implications of
it for those who do not succeed in life. Despite being called "The
Secret" (note the use of the word "The" to give the film its
unique selling proposition), there is nothing really new or secret at
all about
the content of the film, as critics were quick to note.
Regardless,
there is a lot of value in this film
for anybody who is seeking positive advice about how to adopt the right
attitude for success. This is especially the case for anybody who is
struggling
to find success with a home based internet business, since that is the
kind of
enterprise that requires an immense amount of self motivation,
visualization
and self-belief.
The
Secret Tips
for Internet Marketers:
1. The
message
of the secret will provide much
inspiration and help with visualization of goals for anybody seeking
success on
the Internet.
2. When
thinking about their own products and
services, Internet marketers should learn the lessons of content
repackaging
that The Secret provides.
3.
Internet
marketers can learn a lot by
studying how the secret became a sales phenomenon through viral
marketing on
the Internet.
4.
Internet
marketers should not be afraid of
courting controversy. Quite often it can be an excellent method of
publicizing
your products and services.
The DVD
and
book versions of The Secret by
Rhonda Byrne are available at Amazon.com.

wish you the best of success,
