You will often see better time management being discussed in self improvement books, CD’s and seminars. So the question is: would it be worthwhile to put in the effort to learn the skills of better time management? And the answer is: for sure it is worth putting in some effort to learning how to manage your time efficiently.

Below are3 top advantages of utilizing better time management.

1.  Control of your Life

As soon as you learn to manage your time better, you will have more control over your life. Your day will suddenly have a sense of order to it. When you pre-plan, you’ll know what order to work on things throughout the day.

Once you gain control over your time, your self confidence will grow. You will find that setting and achieving your daily goals will become very satisfying. As you become better at managing your time, you’ll become more productive day by day. It is also very satisfying to check off the tasks on your to do list.

2.  More Free Time

When you start to become more proficient at time management, you’ll find that you have a lot more free time. You need to take advantage of your free time as well because this lowers stress. When your stress is lowered, you are actually a lot more productive when you work.

This fact is even true for those individuals who thrive in a high stress work environment. These people also need free time to recharge their energy. In fact, it can be argued that these people require free time even more so than the less stressed out group.

3.  Better Productivity and Job Enjoyment


When you get the correct amount of free time in your life, your work time becomes more enjoyable and productive. It is also a well known fact that people who take the proper amount of time away from work are more creative and innovative when they return. This creates a continuous cycle: When you manage your time at work better you get more free time. And when you get more free time, you work more efficiently at work.

In general, time management skills are very poor and undeveloped in the workplace. Better time management gives you complete control of your life, both in the workplace as well as everywhere else. It is most definitely a great idea to spend some time, money and effort to develop better time management habits.
